Four-time GRAMMY® winner Yolanda Adams; Librarian of Congress Dr. James Billington; Chief Creative Officer of Sony Music Entertainment Worldwide Clive Davis; songwriter/producer and former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi; GRAMMY, Academy Award® winner and GRAMMYs on The Hill® honoree Jennifer Hudson, eclectic cellist Zoë Keating; and SESAC songwriters Angela Hunte (Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State Of Mind”), and Victoria Shaw (Garth Brook’s “The River”); as well as Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow.
WHAT:
“Washington’s most interesting mix of music and politics,” GRAMMYs on the Hill connects talented music artists with Washington’s political leaders. Hudson will perform and accept The Recording Academy’s Recording Artists’ Coalition Award. Dr. Billington will receive the GRAMMYS on the Hill Award on behalf of the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry, and a tribute performance by DioGuardi, Hunte and Shaw, will connect classic songs to their own hits. Numerous members of Congress will participate in a surprise musical segment. GRAMMYs on the Hill is presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation® with proceeds benefitting The Foundation’s GRAMMY Signature Schools program. SESAC is the lead sponsor of the GRAMMYs on the Hill Awards.
