
Girl Scouts Names Chief Executive Officer
Former Freescale executive chosen to lead the way for Girl Scouts of Central Texas
Austin, Texas, June 24, 2013 — After an exhaustive nationwide search, the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) has selected Lynelle McKay as their new Chief Executive Officer. Ms. McKay brings to the position top-level professional experience, superior leadership skills and a passionate commitment to the Girl Scout mission.
“Lynelle will be an excellent leader and advocate for GSCTX,” states Board Chair Kirsten Billhardt, “and an exemplary role model for our girls. Lynelle has the experience, ability, passion and drive to effectively lead our organization throughout our 46 county footprint so that we become once again a high performing, nationally recognized Girl Scout council. She is the person that our Council needs at this time and what our girls most certainly deserve.”

Together with the generosity of our volunteers, donors, and board, we stay mission-focused to ensure our girls grow up to be the leaders our communities need.”
Ms. McKay’s corporate career spanned over 20 years at Freescale Semiconductor, culminating in her position as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the $1 billion Networking and Multimedia business. She led a global organization with over 2400 in staff, with teams in the U.S., Europe, Mexico, Israel, India, and China. Ms. McKay retired in 2008 and since then has devoted much of her time to serving the community through local nonprofit organizations. She is a board member of the Ann Richards School Foundation and SAHELI, Asian Family Support Services of Austin, and has volunteered for multiple organizations, including the Military Child Education Coalition and the Zoo in You TM, an emotional leadership development program for children. Ms. McKay also served on the Board of GSCTX (2008-2010) participating on the STEM Advisory Committee, Finance Committee, Development Committee and Strategic Learning Team.
