Punctuating a string of recent successes, Central Texas-based celebrity photojournalist and urban affairs reporter Naomi Richard has been invited to report coverage of the 2014 Stellar Awards on January 18 in Nashville, TN. Her credentials were selected from among an extensive list of hopefuls to cover the prestigious series of events from a unique and exclusive perspective. The All-Access Pass provides personal interaction with the artists, candid photo opportunities, and entry as a photographer into the televised award show.
Richard has both photo and interview credits with such gospel greats as Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Israel Houghton, VaShawn Mitchell, Edwin Hawkins, Isaac Carree, Yolanda Adams, Albertina Walker, Dorinda Clark-Cole, the duo Mary Mary and the legendary Dr. Bobby Jones. This is in addition to the A-list screen luminaries she has photographed, including Academy Award-winner Forrest Whitaker, Tony Award-winner Courtney Vance, Academy Award-nominated Angela Bassett, and the incomparable Bishop T. D. Jakes and Oprah Winfrey.
This year’s Stellars will feature a Pre-Show, a Gospel Radio Station and Announcer Awards event, Red Carpet affair, an Emerging Artists Showcase, and of course the live Awards Program coverage – and Richard will get to see it all with a rare “All-Access Pass.”
“I am thrilled and elated to be able to participate in this prestigious event. In many ways, it represents a validation of my longtime dream to pursue professional photography.” She added, “I hope to make Central Texas and my readers all over the country proud!”
The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is the first and oldest televised awards show for gospel music. This year’s show – the 29th edition — will be produced live on UPLIFTING Entertainment and will air in national syndication starting January 25th – through March 2.
