[New Post] The Spirit of Mexico

Tequila set up 2 IMG_0274Ujima was invited to attend The Spirit of Mexico at Casa Chapala last weekend. I made new friends and met old ones. The group that was invited was from the different media outlets in Austin.

Laura Valentino Romero, the host, gave us an experience that will guarantee my return to Casa Chapala for the food and adult beverages. The food was very good. My favorite dish served was the Cerviche. Yum! The fun came when we sampled three different tequilas. Yes, I had to drink a lot of water, but I enjoyed each one.

Three vendors presented their product and taught us about the history, but of course, the tasting was the best part. The vendors were Clase Tequila, Gaia and Cat Tequila. All were different but very tasty. I am personally a rum person but I will be adding Tequila to my experience. Laura IMG_0281

Ujima thanks Lupe Barragan, the owner of Casa Chapala for having us. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. If you want a heartfelt Mexican experience, visit Casa Chapala for lunch or dinner. They have over 200 tequilas to try and enjoy. Their motto is “Mi casa es su casa”

If you want to be apart of these experiences in the future, join the Austin Tequila Society. The 6th annual Austin Tequila Fest will be held on October 31st at Casa Chapala.

Thanks again for the introduction to great tequila!
