Ujima’s March Newsletter

Damita Miller-Shanklin

Hello, Ujima Community

I hope you are all doing well. We all feel the change in the weather where the mornings  are cool and the evenings are warm to hot!. But we have to be grateful that Austin sits in a sweet spot where we don’t get too bad of weather. Wishing you all a wonderful rest of March.

WHAT UJIMA IS LOVING

I had the opportunity to be a guest on the CBS We Are Austin Show to discuss our continued collaboration with Madelyn Patterson and Gone Mad Production. I shared information abut the latest issue. You can find Ujima’s segment on the 2nd Tuesday of each month sharing the latest issue for the month. We are loving it!!

One Last Thing

You know we are living in uncertain times. But let’s continue to stay strong and lift up one another. If we have not needed community before, we do now.  Because I work full time and do Uima in the evenings, I am looking to meet other black women who are doing the same. Struggling alone can be a lonely place.  This has been on my mind for a long while and I would love to communicate and build a community that can help each of us grow. If you are interested, email me at  Damita@Ujimamagazine.com and we can discuss forming a group.

I will see you next month. We would appreciate you following us on our Ujima Facebook Page, Ujima Instagram,   Linkedin and Threads
