Damita Miller-Shanklin

Who in your life is the women who you celebrate on a daily basis. Who comes to mind this month during Women’s History Month? We all have someone who we listen to a little more, follow their journey, or have them as a mentor.

Ujima is observing Women’s History Month. Our feature story is Karma Cottman, CEO/Founder of Ujma: The National Center on Violence Against Women In The Black Community. We hope you enjoy this issue. We will not be mad if you share the link with a friend.

You may notice Ujima shares the name but we our businesses represent very different Roles and Responsibilities for our community.

  1. This issue really gave me pause…After carefully reading the articles, I focused within myself for the inspirations that I received throughout my years of living, not realizing fully of the impact (good, bad and ugly) it had on my going forward. Thanks for bring those issues to the minds of us women who needed that LIGHT!
