AUSTIN, TX – ZACH  Theatre is pleased to stage an all-new production of the theatrical landmark, THE GOSPEL AT COLONUS, playing April 2-27, 2014 on stage at the Topfer Theatre.  Based on Sophocles’ Greek myth “Oedipus,” this musical tells the story of Oedipus’ return home seeking forgiveness, redemption and transformation in the context of a gospel church service. This uplifting experience will thrill audiences with spectacular choreography by CHRISTA OLIVER-TORRES and electrifying vocals by Austin’s most acclaimed gospel singers, including TIMOTHY CURRY, JANIS STINSON, JUDY ARNOLD, FELICIA DINWIDDIE, JACQUI CROSS, RODERICK SANFORD, KENNY WILLIAMS and a full gospel choir with live orchestra. Acclaimed actor EUGENE LEE (ZACH’s Dividing The Estate, The Book of Grace, The God of Carnage) will portray the Preacher Oedipus.
