From the May Issue 2022
The month of May is always a reminder that we are starting the holiday season. Moving forward we start with celebrations from Cinco De Mayo to Juneteenth. The most important celebration is Mother’s Day!
How will you celebrate your mother? My mother is the matriarch of our family. She is 95 years old and still enjoys her family. Recently, she got to meet her great-great-grandson. It was a beautiful moment. It was very special because my mother has Alzheimer’s. She enjoyed him and knew he was her grandson and she loved him. Having a mother with Alzheimer’s is very difficult. Anyone who is taking care of a parent who has the disease understands. As the daughter, you go through many emotions.
I’m blessed to have my mother despite who she is today. She still loves her family and tells us every time we visit. I often think about the things she taught me that I hold close to my heart. She made me the person I am today. I love my mother and I will be celebrating her this Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day to All the Mothers of the World
