Mission Accomplished, an organization dedicated to providing laundry services for those experiencing homelessness, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a family-friendly indoor carnival on July 13th. This milestone event will take place from 1 PM to 4 PM, offering fun, food, and games for all ages while highlighting the incredible journey and impact of the organization over the past decade.

A Decade of Service and Growth
Ten years ago, Mission Accomplished began with a simple yet powerful mission: to address the needs of the Unhoused community by providing consistent laundry services. Founder and Executive Director, Ebonie Trice, shared the inspiration behind the organization, stating, “We started by asking those we serve what resources they needed most. Laundry was a consistent request, as clean clothes are a basic necessity often taken for granted.”
From its humble beginnings, Mission Accomplished has grown from operating one day a week to six days a week. Initially, volunteers used their personal vehicles to collect, wash, and return clothes to various encampments. Today, the organization utilizes trailers equipped with washers and dryers, making it easier to provide services directly at various locations, including shelters and encampments across Austin.
Impact Beyond Clean Clothes
Mission Accomplished services go beyond laundry. As Trice explains, “When individuals come to check in their clothes, they can also take a shower, have a meal, and access other resources on-site. It’s a one-stop shop that provides dignity and helps bridge the gap to other essential services.” The organization collaborates with multiple agencies to offer a wide range of support, from clothing closets to job assistance.

The organization’s holistic approach addresses not just the immediate needs but also the systemic barriers faced by many in the black and brown communities. Trice emphasized, “People often overlook the systemic issues contributing to homelessness, especially for black and brown men. From the lack of affordable housing to employment challenges and systemic barriers, we’re here to build relationships and provide comprehensive support.”

Join the Celebration

The 10th Anniversary Carnival is set to be a joyous celebration of Mission Accomplished achievements and the community it serves. Held indoors to beat the Texas heat, the event promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family. Admission is $25 for adults and $12 for youth 12 and under, which includes food, games, and giveaways.
Attendees can look forward to carnival games, a bounce house, trivia, and exciting raffles featuring prizes such as Round Rock Express tickets and gift cards to popular local spots like Pappadeaux. In addition, the event will host vendors from other nonprofits, providing information about various community services available to those in need.
Looking to the Future
While celebrating a decade of service, Mission Accomplished continues to look forward, seeking more funding and support to expand its reach and impact. “Our vision remains the same: to provide essential services and build relationships with those experiencing homelessness,” said Trice. “We hope the community will join us in celebrating this milestone and continue to support our mission.”

Mission Accomplished 10th Anniversary Carnival is not just an event but a testament to the power of community, resilience, and the enduring spirit of service. Join them on July 13th for a day of celebration, connection, and support for a vital cause.
