UJIMA READING LOUNGE
Ujima caught up with new author Isaac Rowe to find out about his book I Love Anger. This is what he had to say.
Ujima: Tell our readers a little bit about yourself.
Isaac: Well, I am a native Texan born and raised. I reside in Austin, TX with my lovely Wife and Queen Amber. I am the Founder of a non-profit called The Man In Me an organization that focuses on restoring hope in our generation by educating, strengthening and supporting our men, women and their families. I am now an Author of my new published book called “I Love Anger”.
Ujima: Can you give us a little bit of insight about what your book “I Love Anger” is all about?
Isaac: I Love Anger attempts to provoke the deepest areas of your curiosity by driving you to ask yourself, “Do I love anger?” Is that possible? This book is about my life experiences with anger. My journey from childhood to adulthood takes you on a ride through pain, loss and abuse. This book gives a real, nonsense, no holds bar approach on the topic of anger. I give you a new perceptive on anger and some tools to help manage anger. You are eventually brought to hope, faith and forgiveness through reflection and introspection. The very thing that almost destroyed me brought me to love myself.
Ujima: How did you find the process of writing about your journey? Was it a relief at the end of it?
Isaac: This by far has been the most challenging thing I have ever done. I do not have the “gift of writing”. However it was a day to day process of putting my thoughts and life experiences on paper. When I finished the book I felt a release of all the pressure and weight I was carrying spiritually and mentally. An amazing sensation of completion and satisfaction overcame me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be able to accomplish something like being an author. All glory to God because I am truly blessed.
Ujima: Was there an incident that helped you to decide to write the book or was it something that just kinda happened?
Isaac: I knew that I needed closure and a different area of healing that hasn’t been tapped inside me but I didn’t know how to go about doing it. The topic of anger spoke volumes in my spirit and I began researching my life and studying what anger is. I wrote this book for me because I wanted to know what was deep in my heart. I wanted to actually see my thoughts on paper so to speak. When I got about half way in completing the book I realized that this is not only for me, yet it was for me first, but other people need to read this as well.
Ujima: How long did it take you to write the book? How did you come up with the name for the book?
Isaac: It took me total off and on about 1-1/2 to write the book. The name “I Love Anger” came from within. I know that this can be a very misinterpreted and controversial title but as I explored my life being anger I realized this I just what it needed to be called, and so it was.
Ujima: What advice would you have for someone who wants to write their book? Where should they start?
Isaac: First off everyone has a book in them. Whether it’s a life story or something they have knowledge about and want to express it. I would say began searching your heart and being praying for what idea or topic you are passionate about you don’t mind sharing your thoughts about.
Ujima: Can you let our readers know where will the book signing be held and when?
Isaac: Of course, it will be held on Saturday January 10 in the evening at 7:00pm. The location of the event is 4301 N. IH 35 Austin, TX 78722 at the Kleberg Hall on Ardenwood St.
Ujima: Where can people get more information about the book or purchase a copy?
Issac: You can follow me on Facebook @isaacdrowe and twitter @iLoveAnger. It will be available for purchase on Amazon.com paperback and ebook on January 10.
Ujima: Any last words or thoughts?
Isaac: I just want to say Thank you, all of you, for your support and I look forward to meeting new friends at the book release party.
