August signifies the end of summer. Most people are ending their summer vacations and preparing to settle in for the fall season. Schedules are reinstated, being focused is more important and settling into a normal routine becomes important.

The new school year starts for all students. This period is often associated with buying school supplies, textbooks, and getting back into the routine of studying. The end of summer signifies the transition from the warm and sunny days of summer to the cooler temperatures and the various changes that come with it. After these hot temperatures, we all should be looking forward to those cool days!

In this issue our feature is Dr. Nakia Scott. She is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She discusses how she works with children and families using their strengths for healing in their lives.  I hope everyone has a successful school year.
